Skills verification for physical trades

Know who can do the work.

BluePatriot gives workers the same work orders they will face on site. We record how they handle the job, then a trade expert reviews the replay and signs off on what they can do.

Supervisors reviewing work on a commercial site
Run the work order without putting a live site at risk. Then review exactly how the worker handled it.

What one commissioning firm told us

They can hire more engineers, but the senior staff who train them are already tied up on live jobs.

12 to 18 months
How long the firm says it can take a new engineer to lead a site.
200+ engineers
How many the firm hires each year.
Senior leads
The engineers qualified to train new hires are already billing on live jobs.

These numbers came from the commissioning firm we are working with on our first pilot. We are not naming the firm yet.

What a credential cannot show

A certificate shows what someone learned. A BluePatriot assessment shows how they handle the job.

How it works

The worker completes the job in simulation. You get the score and replay.

Digital building model on a workstation
Run the hard scenario before it happens on a live site.
Site supervisor watching commercial work
You can see the judgment behind the result.
Electrician handling wiring during closeout
A trade expert reviews the work and signs off.
Tradesperson working with tools on site
Each completed job is added to the worker's record.

Who it's for

Employers see who is ready. Workers leave with a record they can carry.

Hiring is not the part that jams. Training is.

Trade firms can hire more people. They cannot create more senior engineers to train them. Those same leads are already needed on live jobs, so every new hire competes with billable work for their time.

That is why a new commissioning engineer can take 12 to 18 months to lead a site. Managers still answer "Can we send them alone?" from memory and gut feel.

BluePatriot lets new hires do their first difficult jobs in simulation. Workers do the job, managers get the replay, and an expert signs the result.

We are starting with data center commissioning. If this works there, we can use the same approach for electrical, utilities, HVAC, and other trades where mistakes are expensive.

FAQ

Common questions

How is this different from a certification?

Certifications matter. They show that someone completed required training and met a standard. BluePatriot answers a different question: how did this person handle the job?

Is BluePatriot a training or assessment platform?

Both use the same simulation. Practice mode lets a worker repeat the task and learn. Assessment mode creates a scored replay and an expert sign-off.

Why use simulation for physical work?

You can give every worker the same hard job without putting people, equipment, or a customer site at risk. You can also plant faults that may not show up during ordinary training.

How does scoring work?

We score the parts of the job that matter: checks, order of operations, safety decisions, escalation, and recovery. The replay stays attached to the score, so a manager can inspect it.

Who signs a verification?

A qualified practitioner in the trade. Software logs the session and organizes the evidence. The reviewer watches the work, applies the rubric, and signs their name to the result.

Is BluePatriot only for data centers?

No. We are starting there because firms hire quickly, but new engineers can take 12 to 18 months to become site leads. We built the system so the work orders, tools, and rules can change by trade.

Stop making "ready" calls from memory.
